Beograd has been operating in Serbia since October 2002 as a part of Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank International AG Klagenfurt, financial institution founded in 1896, which originally operated only in Austria. In the last decade the group has been successfully conquering the international market, and in 2006 it became the most successful financial institution in the Alps-Adriatic region, with 750.000 clients in 11 countries (Austria, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Lichtenstein, Germany, Hungary, Montenegro and Bulgaria), and a new name – Hypo Group Alpe Adria.
